Born May 4th,1980 in Houston, Texas, Justin Allmett spent his formative years in Texas before moving to Panama City, Florida when his family relocated. Following the “normal path” after high school, Justin attended Gulf Coast College. With 2 years of college under his belt Justin realized he wanted to pursue his true passion, music.
Born to British parents, Justin had the luxury of citizenship in England, so he packed his backpack, threw his guitar over his shoulder and headed to Europe. Stopping first in England to visit family, then traveling all across Europe, Justin performed on the streets of Costa del Sol in Spain, Paris, Berlin, and everywhere in between. Justin found himself in Switzerland for a while working at a vineyard during the day and playing with a band at night. This time abroad gave Justin a chance to find his voice as a writer as well as a performer.
After returning to the states, Justin settled in Athens, Georgia, an area known for its strong and diverse music scene. Justin met up with an old friend, CK Koch, to form the band Electa Villain. With the local success of Electa Villain, Justin continued to grow as a singer and songwriter.
Justin has performed regularly in the Midwest, the Southeast and even headlined back where he discovered his voice in London.
His influence and sound is reminiscent of Thom Yorke, but with the unpredictability of Beck and a falsetto style that is similar to Jeff Buckley.
Currently, Justin is exploring new sounds and working with a new engineer, Damon Moon at The Cottage in East Atlanta. A new album is well underway and should be ready in early 2016.
